POVERTY IS NOT A HINDRANCE BUT A STEPPING STONE
“Poverty
is not a Hindrance but a Stepping Stone”
Poverty
was the greatest motivating fact in our lives. This is according to Jimmy Dean.
This qoutation may be true to most individuals like me. Poverty may connote a
negative idea but this negative thought can be turn into something positive if
people would choose to do so.
Let
us try to imagine poverty. Have you seen children begging for money or food?
Have you seen children who are able not able to go to school because they need
to earn for a living? Have you seen people living in squatter areas? They are
the perfect picture of poverty. Poverty is the lack of what is essential to
life like
food, shelter, clothing, and of course education.
There are lots of
reasons why there is poverty. Some of these are laziness, lack of education,
and financial problem that is why many families are poor. Sadly some poor
people are contented with this kind of situation. For them, being poor is in
their blood. With that, most of them are poor and they are not given chances to
change their situation in life. Also, others are contented of what they have,
even they are poor.
If you are going to ask
me, I believe that there is no excuses on being poor. There are unlimited ways
to have a well-off life. As long as your persevere, success will always be on
your way. Even without a college degree, a person can still have a way to be
successful. They just have to be courageous, persevering and industrious. But
for us who are given chance to study, strive to finish our studies and earn a
college degree. This is our guide to achieve the success that we want to avoid
being poor. able to continue studying, achieve to finish our schooling with a
college degree.
Life is not easy. There
are lots of hindrances in reaching our goals. But let us learn to act and fight
these hindrances. Just take one step at a time and reach our stepping stone to
success. And
the most important thing is believe in yourself that how hard your situation
is, we can still succeed in the good way. Truly, that there is no reason to stay poor.
Together, let us not let poverty be a hindrance to stepping stone.
